导热油在锅炉中加热运行时，容易产生一些长碳链的胶状物，时间长了，附着在管壁上产生油泥进而生成结焦，势必影响散热效果，也阻碍了热载体在管道中的运行速度，更有甚者，将管道堵死，使炉管报废，甚至引起爆炸，怎样解决这个问题一直是我们山东导热油工程技术研究所研究、开发、探索的一个重要课题。
导热油炉管及设备系统中的污垢，主要是以有机物为主体的污垢，此种污垢适合用氧化分解的方法清洗去除，此种污垢大多是亲油性污垢，不易分散或溶解于水，表现出憎水性，但它们通常可溶于有机溶剂。
根据这些特点，我们开发配制的清洗剂，主要由有机溶剂与表面活性剂配制而成，此清洗剂的溶解力、分散力强，通过表面活力、物理力及利用热分解、流体动力、冲击力、摩擦力等物理作用给予体系能量，使污垢解离分散。使用此清洗剂由于工艺流程短，劳动强度低，可进行自动化操作，所以说经济性特别突出。能保证达到规定洗净程度的要求，有良好的可靠性，并能使系统保持良好的生产作业环境，使工人的健康和安全得到充分的保证，对清洗对象无二次污染。
