　　陶瓷微晶磨料是采用溶胶凝胶法生产的，简略介绍如下：
　　一、溶胶凝胶法制备的陶瓷微晶磨料的特点：
　　溶胶凝胶法制备的陶瓷微晶磨料属于烧结磨料，晶粒尺寸非常小，只有100---500nm,仅为普通刚玉磨粒晶体尺寸的几百分之一，一颗46#粒度的磨料中含有上亿个晶粒，在磨削时，传统电熔刚玉磨粒在工作面被磨去后扁平钝化，在磨削力的作用下磨粒容易从磨具上脱落，使用寿命短，而溶胶凝胶法制备的陶瓷微晶磨料的整个磨损过程也是磨粒自身的自锐过程，在使用寿命期间，磨粒表面层被磨钝的微小晶粒在磨削力的作用下从磨粒上脱落时，不断暴露出新的锋利的磨削刃，使磨粒始终处于锋利状态。用这种磨料做成的磨具具有寿命长，自锐性好，切削效率高，不易烧伤工件等特点。
　　溶胶凝胶法制备的陶瓷微晶磨料由于其显微结构不同，所以在磨粒断裂行为上就有所不同。陶瓷微晶磨料表现为沿晶断裂破坏，而传统的电熔刚玉磨粒多呈穿晶断裂破坏，陶瓷微晶磨料的磨粒韧性是传统的电熔刚玉磨粒的两倍左右。
　　由于它均匀细小的微晶结构，高的韧性和微破碎性能使它在磨削工具钢、韧性不锈钢、耐热合金钢等难加工材料方面得到广泛应用。
　　二、用陶瓷微晶磨料制成的磨具的特点：
　　1、磨粒锋利，切削能力强，磨削效率高。可以进行大切深、大进给、重负荷和高效磨削。据试验，单行程进给量可达0.3mm以上，金属去除率比普通刚玉砂轮高两倍以上。
　　2、韧性好，磨损小，砂轮形状保持性好。用于精密磨削和成型磨削，容易获得较高的尺寸精度和尺寸形状一致性。
　　3、砂轮耐用度高，使用寿命长，可达普通刚玉砂轮的5---10倍，更换频率低，减少辅助加工时间和停机时间，有利于使用数控自动机床，实现自动化生产。
　　4、砂轮自锐性好，不堵塞。可以保持稳定的磨削性能，因为可以减少修正量(为一般刚玉砂轮的1/3左右)，可以减少休整次数，提高生产效率。
　　5、在性能上远远优于普通电熔刚玉砂轮，在价格上远远低于CBN和金刚石磨料，而其硬度与普通刚玉磨料相近，所以不需特殊的磨削设备和修正装置，不存在CBN和金刚石在磨削设备方面的特殊要求及修整方面的困难，对没磨削液也没有太特殊的要求，易于推广使用。
