自主研发的稻麦联合收割机,是由独立的割台、输送槽、脱粒机、粮仓和秸秆还田机组成。按装在农用动力底盘上，可一次完成收割、脱粒、清选、装仓、秸秆粉碎还田。
该稻麦联合收割机的最大特征是，只收割稻麦穗头，高茬留在地上，由自带的秸秆粉碎机将留在地上的高茬粉碎还田。这是目前国内外唯一的能够对谷物分层处理的收割机。现有的收割机都是将稻麦从底部切下，整体送入脱粒机进行脱粒、清选，其消耗大量的动力，且夹带籽粒很多，清选难度大。通过对比试验，分层收割可节省一半的耗油量，提高收割速度，减少籽粒夹带损失，提高清洁度，且可实现秸秆还田，不再需要焚烧秸秆，减少空气污染。
割台是吸收了各家收割机的优点制造出来的，是目前结构最简单、可靠性最高、使用性最强的割台。
脱粒机采用双层波纹网状筛结合二次清选的技术，使籽粒含杂率更少、损失率更低，在脱粒机的排草口处装有碎草装置，可把秸秆粉碎后排出还田。
