夹层玻璃是在玻璃之间加上坚韧的聚乙烯醇缩醛（PVC）中间层，经高温高压加工制成。
产品性能：
1.保安性：因为无法用玻璃刀对夹层玻璃已安装的夹层玻璃实施有效切割，而且正常人其他工具击穿夹层玻璃耗时长、噪声大。所以对于恶意破坏、偷盗和暴力入侵有很强的抵御作用。
2.防飓风与地震：由于夹层玻璃在破裂时或破裂后，碎片仍保留在原位的性能，使其成为飓风区和地震区人们乐于采用的建筑材料。
3.防弹、防暴性：用多层夹层玻璃可以制造各种级别的防弹、防暴玻璃，用于需要抵御住枪弹、炸弹和暴力攻击的地方。
4.降噪性：PVB胶膜对声波的阻碍作用，使夹层玻璃能有效的阻挡声音的传播，减低噪音。
5.控制阳光特性：夹层玻璃（特别是着色夹层玻璃）能减弱太阳光的透射，从而降低了制冷能耗。同时可减弱太阳眩光而不致造成色彩失真。
6.防紫外线特性：夹层玻璃对紫外线有极高的隔断作用（95％以上），有助于避免室内贵重家具、窗帘、陈列品或其他物品受紫外线辐射影响。
7.耐水压特性：夹层玻璃不仅具有一定的强度，而且当其四周用相容的玻璃封胶密封使，具有良好的耐水性。
