本品为应用最广泛的发泡剂之一，常压发泡和加压发泡均可。主要用作聚氯乙稀、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚酰胺、聚苯乙烯、ABS树脂、氯丁橡胶、丁晴橡胶、天然橡胶、丁基橡胶、丁苯橡胶和硅橡胶的发泡剂。其分解产物无毒、无臭、不污染，可得纯白的塑料泡沫体。
产品理化性质：
黄色粉末，无毒、无臭，不易燃，溶于碱，不溶于醇、汽油、笨、吡啶等有机溶剂。相对密度1.65-1.66/cm3。室温贮存稳定。
包装及贮运：
25kg内衬塑料袋、外用编织袋包装。贮存于阴凉、通风库房中，远离热源、火种，防止受潮，与酸碱隔离存放。运输中防止猛烈撞击。
