SBR粉末沥青改性剂，是在丁苯橡胶的基础上接枝苯乙烯等单体，专为沥青改性而生产的一种粉末丁苯橡胶制品。与SBS改性沥青相比，SBR粉末改性沥青能够获得稳定的壳核结构而不需添加稳定剂，具有优异的低温性能而尤其适合北方地区使用。SBR粉末改性沥青能够明显改善沥青的高温性能，还可用于提高沥青的粘度而生产高粘度改性沥青。利用SBR粉末改性沥青可直接乳化生产改性乳化沥青，具有良好的储存稳定性，改性乳化沥青具有较好的发展前途：利用SBR粉末改性沥青可生产性能优良的自粘防水卷材，在国内广泛采用；利用SBR粉末生产的高等级路面改性沥青，具有优良的低温延伸度、适宜的高温软化点、较好的拌和施工性能，在西藏、青海、甘肃、陕西、山西及东北地区已经广泛应用。
