机动车排气污染物简易瞬态工况法测试方法（简称VMAS）是使用汽车底盘测功机等设备，通过在转鼓试验台上模拟汽车在道路上的实际行驶状况，对汽车排气污染物进行测试的一种方法，是一种先进的、科学的测试技术，是GB18285-2005标准推荐使用的方法之一，是目前检测技术水平最高的技术，也是目前各省市推广使用的一种检测方式。采用该检测方法，有利于科学控制机动车排气污染，进一步改善环境空气质量。保障人民群众身体健康。
VMAS检测方法的主要特点
●简易瞬态法是一种带负荷的测试方法，检测结果能良好地反映车辆在道路上的实际排放状况，是科学、先进、实用的检测方法。与目前采用的双怠速检测方法相比，具有误判率较低，能有效防止调校作弊行为，同时也能对汽车的氮氧化物排放进行检测，可为在用车监管提供更加科学、客观的依据。
●简易瞬态法采用了VMAS195试验方法：即在195秒内的检测过程中包含了加速、减速、怠速、恒速等多种工况，检测结果与实际情况有好多的相似性。
●VMAS检测系统，是基于汽车污染物质量排放的测试系统，以g/km表示。质量排放测试能够直接获取汽车污染物的排放总克数，可以更为准确地模拟车辆的实际工作状态，有利于归纳排放因子，更为客观、公正地判断车辆的排放情况，对城市制动机动车污染控制规划具有实际意义。
