无臭、无味。相对密度4.42～4.45。 不溶于水和乙醇，微溶于氨水，能溶于稀酸和氢氧化钠中。
与30%双氧水作用，释放出二氧化碳，形成氧化物。
主要用途：可用于制造催化脱硫剂、乳胶薄膜制品、颜料、人造丝，医药上用碱式碳酸锌做轻型收敛剂、
防腐剂、爽身粉、消毒剂和皮肤保护剂。由于碱式碳酸锌的透明度接近于天然橡胶，
所以在透明橡胶产品中作为补强剂及硫化促进剂使用。
贮存方法：贮存于阴凉、通风、干燥的库房中。不可与酸碱类物品共贮混运。注意防潮。
运输过程中要防雨淋、受潮、防日晒、受热。失火时可用水、沙土和灭火器扑救。
