主要成分： 苯、甲苯、二甲苯以及其它芳烃类的混合物
物理性质： 混合苯在常温下为无色透明游芳香气味的液体，易挥发，其沸点和熔点随其混合物的组分的不同而有较大差别，密度0.85-0.87比水小，混合苯难溶于水，1升水中最多溶解1.8g混合苯；但混合苯是一种良好的有机溶剂，溶解有机分子和一些非极性的无机分子的能力很强。是一种基础的化工原料。
化学性质： 混合苯的化学性质并不是很活泼，具备一般纯苯、甲苯、二甲苯的化学性质。混合苯和其他的烃一样，都能燃烧。当氧气充足时，产物为二氧化碳和水。但在空气中燃烧时，火焰明亮并有浓黑烟。这是由于混合苯中碳的质量分数较大。南京卓彩化工有限公司混合苯馏程为80-120，100-145两种。
生产制备： 从石油中提取；在原油中含有少量的苯、甲苯和二甲苯，从石油产品中提取混合苯是最广泛使用的制备方法，但现在从石油中提取的芳烃一般都进行了芳烃的分离而产出纯苯、甲苯和二甲苯以适应工业生产的需要，而较少作为混合苯直接销售。
工业用途： 工业上主要作为溶剂用于制作香蕉水、天那水、聚氨脂稀释剂等，与苯、酮、酯等有机溶剂相溶，用于配制油漆、油墨、稀释剂及PVC胶粘剂，是生产油漆、涂料的主要原料。 混合苯的另一主要用途是作为汽油添加剂使用
