火电厂机组停用检修保养期间，为了防止锅炉水汽系统设备在大气中产生腐蚀，一般要采取停炉保护措施。传统的停炉保护措施有充氮法、余热烘干法、充氨法和投加气相缓蚀剂法等等但都存在着这样或那样的不足。我公司与山东大学、中国石油大学联合研发的以十八胺为基础的停炉保护剂，可使设备暴露在大气中6～12个月不受腐蚀，适用范围广，安全长效，而且我公司产品配方内区别于市场上现有十八胺类保护剂配方内含有表面活性剂，避免了对设备造成不良负面影响的问题。并在多台300MW、200MW、50MW等机组成功应用，保护膜致密坚固，防腐效果良好。
注：（在十八胺停炉保护剂的制造过程中，为了使十八胺使用时能在水中呈分散状态，各种十八胺停炉保护剂中均加入一定量的表面活性剂，使药剂能在炉水中形成均匀混合液，以便在水汽系统中均匀分散、均匀成膜，达到防腐效果。这些表面活性剂在高温、高压的汽包里的化学行为至今人们了解甚少，也就无法了解这些表面活性剂对系统设备表面性能的影响。然而，设备的腐蚀或材料性能的变化是一个长期的过程，在短期内是难以用肉眼观察到的。目前已有一些机组发现使用该方法后低压缸有点蚀现象和炉水pH值下降现象。另外，表面活性剂在汽包里会形成大量泡沫，尽管时间很短，由此造成的蒸汽携带对设备、对十八胺成膜产生的影响也是难以预测的。由此可见，加入药剂中的表面活性剂有可能影响十八胺停炉保护剂的使用效果。）

按水汽系统的水容量计算，药剂使用量为150～200 mg/L（按有效成分计）。
使用效果
⑴ 水汽系统内表面有良好的憎水性，水珠呈圆球状；
⑵ 酸性硫酸铜变红时间：大于20分钟（通常要求1分钟即可；不同部位，时间不同；压力越高的部位，酸性硫酸铜变红时间越长，大部分部位大于2小时）；
⑶ 有效保护时间：6～12个月。
保护范围
整个汽水系统，包括除氧器、高低加、汽包、过热器、汽轮机等。
