正丙醇为无色液体，沸点97.2℃，密度0.80g/cm 3 ，能与醇、醚及许多有机溶剂互溶，与卤化氢反应生成卤化物、发生酯化反应、胺化反应、氧化反应等。
用途
正丙醇是生产绿色环保食品印刷油墨醋酸正丙酯的主要原料，也是农药原料正丙胺、二正丙胺、清洗剂溴丙烷、乙二醇单丙醚的主要原料。 正丙醇本身也是优良溶剂，可用作苯胺印刷油墨的特殊溶剂，特别是用于聚烯烃及聚酰胺薄膜的印刷。此外还可用作纤维素羧甲基化的溶剂，醋酸纤维素的胶凝剂和增塑剂等。正丙醇还是重要的医药中间体，可用作生产红霉素、丙磺舒、丙戊酸钠、癫健安、粘合止血剂BCA、丙硫硫胺、2,5-吡啶二甲酸二丙酯等医药原料。
