丙醛化学性质非常活泼，可与氢气反应生成丙醇、发生氧化反应生成丙酸、易发生聚合等反应。
用途：丙醛是生产正丙醇、防腐剂原料丙酸、水性聚氨酯原料二羟甲基丙酸、有机玻璃单体甲基炳烯酸甲脂、树脂原料三羟甲基乙烷、水处理剂丙酮肟的主要原料。丙醛还是生产聚乙烯过程中的阻聚剂，合成树脂、橡胶的促进剂和防老剂等，也可用作抗冻剂、润滑剂、脱水剂等。丙醛广泛应用于医药、油漆、塑料、香料、橡胶、食品饲料等行业，是公认的精细化工产业的基础原料。
包装：160kg/桶，低温密闭保存。也可槽车运输。
贮存：丙醛易氧化生成酸，应避免接触空气，在氮气保护下贮存。通常采用铝质或不锈钢容器，也可以用酚醛树脂衬里的碳钢容器；丙醛是易燃液体，运输时应有红色标记。
