甲醇系结构最为简单的饱和一元醇。又称“木醇”或“木精”。
外观与性状：无色澄清液体，有刺激性气味。微有乙醇样气味，易挥发，易流动，燃烧时无烟有蓝色火焰，能与水、醇、醚等有机溶剂互溶，能与多种化合物形成共沸混合物，能与多种化合物形成溶剂混溶，溶解性能优于乙醇，能溶解多种无机盐类，如碘化钠、氯化钙、硝酸铵、硫酸铜、硝酸银、氯化铵和氯化钠等。易燃，有毒，一般误饮15ml可致眼睛失明。
主要用途：精甲醇在工业上的用途十分广泛，除可作许多有机物的良好溶剂外，主要用于合成纤维、甲醛、塑料、医药、农药、染料、合成蛋白质等工业生产，是一种基本的有机化工原料。

Qilu first Fertilizer Company is located in the ancient capital of Qi in Shandong Zibo Linzi, Qilu Petrochemical Company is located in the main production plant area, covers an area of 26.23 hectares, and has its own railway line. The main products of Qilu are urea, methanol, liquid ammonia, steam, octanol, n-butanol, isobutanol, n-butyraldehyde and isobutyraldehyde.
